An Ordinance relating to building construction in the City of
Beaumont.
The Board of. Trustees of the City of Beaumont do ordain as follows: -
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, ffrm or cor-
poration to erect, construct, alter or enlarge an# buildinf, or strtlieture
within the limits of the City of Beaumont, California the ost of which
shall exceed the sum of fifty dollars without having first obtained the
permit hereinafter specified therefor. Such permit shall Ile granted by
the City Clerk. upon written application therefor file& with him and sta-
ting the name of the owner, the nature of the contemplated improvement,
cost and description of the location thereof.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall keep a record of .11 permits
granted by him under this ordinance and shall be entitled 0 charge and'
collect the following fees for the same, viz:-
Where the cost does not exceed five hundred. dollars, !Fifty Cents.
Where the cost exceeds five hundred dollars and does lot exceed
one thousand dollars, One Dollar.
For each additional thousand collars above one thousalid dollars
fifty cents for each thousand dollars or fraction thereof.
Section 3. Any and every violation of the provisiins of this
Ordinance is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor and shallbe punishable
by a fine of not more than Fifty Dollars or by imprisonment; for not more
than twenty days or by both such fine and imprisonment.
