Any firm, person or coreoration engaged in more than one line of business, as arranged and classified in the subdivisions of this ordinance, shall each pay a, separate license for each, separate - line; Provided, that where more than one of the various lines specified in this ordinance are combined in, one prenise the said firm, person or corDoration shall pay the highest rate applying to any cne line of bus- inese ,.one by them in the said premises and 50 cents adeltional for each and. every rt,7c,er specified line of business done by them on the aforesaid preises, except as otherwise provided in this ordinance. Section 3, The term selling as used in, this ordinance is meant selling, attempting to sell, keeling for sale. And the term business a us.ed in this ordinance shall include the holding of ,)nes self out in any manner to be engaged in the pursuit or vocation on which a license if! :tere7c,y 11):posed. Section 4. No person, firm or corporation shall open, conduct or -6- carry on any business, show, exhibition, profession or amusement, pro— vided for specifically or otherwise, in this ordinance, without first payirg in advance the amount of :such. license tax, as fi:ced in this ord— inanee , to the Marshal or other person authorized by thp Board of Trus— tees to collect the same. Section 5. The entire licence for the period indicated in this ordinance must be paid and not divided or prorated and no variation, in the period or rates shall be made from those established in this ord— inanc A part of a day shall be decried a day and more than 15 days shall be deemed a month and more than one month and less than three month's 's shad be deer ed a. quarter, Section, 6, The periods for quarterly licens=e shall and are hereby declared to be the first day of April, July, October and January in e 11 year. Neither shall a license be consid- ered a, giving the licensee a right to ;present anything indecent or im— moral to any audience within the City and a refusal of the licensee to comply with the provisions of this section is sufficient cause for the sv inary closing of his business by the Marshal. Section Every license shall be revocable by the Board of Trus -- tees of said City, upon proof tc said Board that the holder thereof has violated or is violating any of the provisions of this or any other ord- -t- insenc e of the City. Section 9. The Clerk Lath such assistance as the collector may be able to give shall make out as complete a license roll as possible, near tee close of each quarter, for the next quarter, ane. the Collector shall then proceed to collect such licenses on the first day next suc- ceeding the' first day of each. quarterly period, continuing as rapidly as s._' ; 1 ;zi:U1 all have been collected. If any person., f:.rm or corpor- ation ,stall neglect or refuse to take out a license as provided for in this, ordinance and shall continue to transact business the Marshal shall fortl7e ith swear out a complaint and bring him to trial before the City Recorder or other Court having jurisdiction. Section 10. And every violation of this ordinances or any provis- ion thereof, is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor and Is punishable by a fine of not more than ti50.00 or by imprisonment for no.; mora than 30 days cr by both such fine and imprisonment. Or the axrou.ot of such. li- cense lreez; be collected, together with the costs, as u de';t due to the said City of Beaumont, from any person or persons, firm or corporation, fon. i uilty of any violation of this ordinance or any of the provisions there f, a :.c. each and every violation shall constitute a separate of- fehee. Section 11. All other ordinances or parts of ordt.nances of the City of Beau dont in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 12.
