BE RAISED BY TAXATION UPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY TF1E,
2 CITY OF BEAUMONT FOR THE CURRENT YEAR.

ordain as follower

SECTION 1. The amount of money necessary to be
5 raised by axa ion upon the taxable property lif the City of
Beaumont as a revenue to carry on the various departments
6 of the City of Beaumont, and to pay the bonded and interest
indebtedness of the City of Beaumont for the current year,
7 is hereby fixed at Three Thousand Three hundred and Forty -seve

SECTION 2. This drdinance is hereby declared to be
10 an emergency ordinance and to be necessary for the immediate
preservation of 'the public peace, health and safety, and the
it facts constituting its urgency are hereby stated and declared
12 to be as follows, to -wits
It is required by law that an ordinance be passed
13 fixing; the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation
i4 upon the taxable property in the City of Beaumont, as a
revenue to carry on the various departments of the City►
I6 and to pay its bonded or other indebtedness for the current
year, and that not later than the last Tuesday in August the
16 rate of tax be fixed; there Will not sufficient time elapse
between the time of the adoption of this ordinance and the
last Tuesday in August of this ,year, ` to enable its Passage
17 otherwise than as an emergency ordinance and have it in
effect by said last Tuesday in August when it must be in
18 effect in order to comply with the law with reference * to the
19 fixing of the rate of taxes as aforesaid.. and if the rate of
taxes is not so fixed, the City will be without adequate
20 funds to operate its various departments during the current
year and pay its bonded and interest indebtedness, upon 41ich
21 depends the public health, peace and safety.

24 of Beaumont, and shall be in full force and effect immediate)

City of Beaumont,held on the 8th day of Auu.st,1919,and
that it was duly passed aAd adopted by said Board at a
regular meeting held on the 15th day of August,1919,by
