AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUTEONT CHIMING THE SliLARY OF
THE CITY ?;MARSHAL.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF BEAM.IONT.CA_LIFORNIA,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Paragraph "Third" of Ordinance #57 of the City of
Beaumont,California,is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
The city marshal shall receive a salary of Ya% °'per month.
3eetion 2. This ordinance is an emergency ordinance and is nec-
essary fot the immediate preservation of the public peace health
and safety,and the facts constituting its urgency are declared
to be as follows:
The laws of the State of California,regulating
municipalities of the sixth class demand and provide for a
public peace officer who shall be called the city marshal;
Fri 77insorwho has been city marshal of Beaumont up to the
- ,;'bha.s resigned and his resignation has been accep-
ter; t appears impossible for the present salary of ;�'75 per
month to hire a man that can and will fully,ZZI completely
and satisfactorily perform the duties of city marshal,it is
imperative that the salary be raised to the amount named in the
above proposed amending paragraph; for which reasons this ordi-
nance shall go into full effect and force immediately upon its
final passage.
Section 3. The city clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once dry the
Beaumont Leader, a newspaper of general circulation,published
and circulated in the City of Beaumon.t,California.
