The amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property in the City of Beaumont as a revenue to carry on the various departments of the City of Beaumont and to ray the bonded and interest indebtedness of the City of Beaumont for the current year, is b 1' ' ' e'7 rd", FIVE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY FIVE & 70%101 SOLLARS ($5185.70) for the general fund, and Four Thousand Thirty and no/100 (4030,00) Dollars for interest and payment of bonds. Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance and to be necessary for the i_mmedi.atepreservation of the public health, peace, and safety, and the facts constituting its urgency are hereby stated and declared to be as follows, to- wit: o- if_'f; It is required by law that an ordinance be passed fixing the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property of the City of Beaumont as a revenue to carry on the various departments of the City and to pay its bonded and other indebtedness for the current year, and that not later than the last Tuesday in August the rate of tax iii be fixed; there will not sufficient time elapse between the time for the adoption of this ordinance aid the last Tuesday in August of this year, to enable its passage otherwise than as an emergency ordinance and have it in effect by said last Tuesday in August, when it must be in effect in order to comply with the law ir_reference to the fixing of the rate of taxes as aforesaid, and if the rate of taxes is not so fixed, the Cit; will be without adequate funds to operate its various depart- ments during the current year and pay its bonded and interest indebtedness, upon which depends the public health, peace and safety. Section 3. The Clerk of this City shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Gateway Gazette, a newpaaers of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Beaumont, and shall be in full force and effect innnediately.
