PROPERTY IN THE CITY .OF BTI P U- MONT FOR THE CURPFPT YEAR, THE CITY C,'''UNCIL OF THE CITY OF BE a1T,'ONT DOES ORD: _IN AS FOT,TS : Section No. 1. The amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property in the city of Beaumont as a revenue to carry on the various departments of the City of Beaumont and to pay the bonded and interest indebtedness of the City of Beaumont for the current year, is hereby fixed at Five Thousand Three Hundred 'ighty Eight and 80/100 Dollars (;;5,388.80 for the general fund, and Four Thousand Four Hundred Forty Seven and 50/100 ($4,447.50) Dollars for interest and payment of bonds. Section Fo. 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance and to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace and safety and the facts constituting its urgency are hereby stated and declared to be as follows, to -wit: It is required by law than an ordinance be passed fixing the arrount of money necessary to be raised b-; taxation upon the t-xable property of the City of Beaumont as a revenue to carry on the various de- partments of the city and to pay its bonded and other indebtedness for the curfort year, and that not later than the last Tuesday in ugust the rate of ta- be fixed; them -ill not sufficient time elapse be- tween the tir of he adoption of this ordinance ad last Tu_zesct::_y in August of this year, to en- able its passage ethernise than as an e tergency ordin- aa.nce and have it in effect by said last T esda;j in _ugust, when it must be in effect in order to comply with the law in reference to the fixing of the rate of taxes as aforesaid, and if the rate of taxes is not so fixed, the City will be without adequate funds to operate its various departments during the current year and nay its bonded and interest indebtedness, aeon which depends the public health, peace and safety. Section No. 3. The Clerk of this City shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, publish- ed and circulated in the City of Beaumont, end shall be in full force and effect immediately.
