.AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE ABATEMENT OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE BY THE
REMOVAL OF WEEDS, EXISTING UPON AND IN FRONT OF CERTAIN PRIVATE
PROPERTY FRONTING ON STREET AND OTHER STREETS
IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS;
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Beaumont
deems it to be required by the public interest and convenience and
hereby orders that the marshall abate that certain public nuisance
so declared by ordinance No./o2.%adopted by the Council of the City

1934 by having
the weeds referred to in said ore removed pursuant to the pro—
of Beaumont at its meeting of
visions of an act of the Legislature of the state of California
entitled "An act authorizing municipalities to declare noxious or
dangerous weeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks, or upon
private property within municipalities, to be a public nuisance,
creating a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or
sidewalks or upon which such nuisance exists for the cost of abat—
ing the same", approved May 26, 1915.
Section 2. That said ordinance No. /P, ibeing an ordin—
ance determining and declaring that weeds which bear seeds of a
wingy or downy nature, or which attain such a large growth as to
become a fire menace when dry, or which are otherwise noxious or
dangerous are growing upon certain streets, sidewalks and private
property in the city of Beaumont and are a public nuisance and de—
claring the intention of the Council of the city of Beaumont to
order the abatement of the same is hereby referred to for a further
and more complete description of the property upon which and in
frontof which noxious or dangerous weeds are growing and the de—.
scriptign of the said properties in said ordinance is hereby ex—
pressly adopted and made a part hereof, the same as though fully
set forth herein,

Section 3. That the existence of weeds upon and in front
of the above described property constitutes a menace to life, health
and the safety of property, and is liable to start or spread fire
thereon, and that this ordinance is urgently required for the im—
mediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and
the City Clerk shall certify to its passage by a unanimous vote and
cause the same to be published once in the Beaumont Gazette, r
thereupon and thereafter it shall take effect and be in force.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
by the Council of the City of}Beaumont by the unanimous vote of all
the members of said Council, there being 44 members present
at its meeting of 1 1931.
