SECTICN 1, section 1.of Crdinance 81, of the Cita- of Beaumont,is
hereby amended to read es follows: The Chief of Police of the City
of Beaumont Calif. shall receive a salary of E125.CC per month.

safety, and the facts constituting its urgency are declared to be
as follows: The laws of ttie state of California regulating

peace officer who shall be called the Chief of 'olice;

and said resign. tion has been accepted by the City Council:
It a -pears i.ri: ossible for the present salary of 5i 1C(. C per month
to hire a man that will fully,completely, and satisfactorily per-
form the duties of chief of police, It is imperative that the salary
be raised to the amount named in the above proposed amending para-
graph;, for which reason this ordinance shall go into full force
and effect immediately upon its final passage.
S:CTICN "3, The City Clerk shall certify to passage of this ordinance
and shall cause the same to be published. once in the
Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed,pub-
lished, and circulated in. the City of Beaumont,Ca:lifornia.
Effective September 1, 1931.
