HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 156F Fd 5 6 7 8 9 10 1:L 1f F., 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 3 C) 31 32 ORDINANCE NO ./.5-5- ORDINANCE .5-S ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING REIMBURSEMENT OF ACTUAL EXPENSES OF CITY OFFICIALS PROPERLY INCURRED AND PAID IN THE TRANSACTION OF OFFICIAL CITY BUSINESS. The City Council of the City of Beaumont do ordain as follows: Section 1. That the Mayor, City Councilmen, City Treasurer, City Clerk and City Attorney be reimbursed for expenses and expenditures necessarily incurred and expended by any or either of them in the transaction of official business of the City of Beaumont, as provided in Section 2 of this Ordinance. Section 2, That any such bill or bills, itemized, shall be presented to the City Council at a regular meeting, and be first approved by the Auditing Committee of the City Council, and then ordered paid by the City Council on motion duly made, seconded and carried. Section 3. The City Council shall have full power and authority to decide whether or not any such bill or bills are just and properly incurred or expended on official city business, and its decision shall be conclusive. for any one of $c i Section 4. In no case shall any such bill or bills / in no amount for any one month in excess of the sum of be approved or paid, unless such expenses and/or expenditures before being incurred or paid were expressly authorized by the City Council at a regular or special meeting. Nor shall sal any bills for expenses or expenditures by any city official or employee not mentioned in Section 1 of this Ordinance be approved or paid unless such expenses or expenditures before being incurred or paid were first expressly authorized by the City Council. Section 5, Expenses incurred or expended by any of the officials mentioned in Section 1 of this Ordinanoe in the attendance of meetings of the League of Municipalities shall be held to have been expended and incurred on official city business. Section 6. That the Clerk shall cetify to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circu- lation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Beaumont, and thirty days after its adoption, it shall be in full force and effect. ATTEST: City Clerk -1- Mayor 3 6 8 9 10 1 ]L 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 I, Bernice Conine, Clerk of the City of Beaumont, hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance, being Ordiaauce No. 155 , was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Beaumont, held on the 12th dal of June , 1935, and was duly passed and adopted by the said- ounc at a regular meeting of said Council, duly held on the 2GGt13 day of June , 1935, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Pegram, iitcheltree azia NOES: Councilmen ABSENT: Councilmen obe 1hiteside and. i-cowen Dated this 26th day of -2- June City Clerk 1935. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 1.0 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 2:5 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 Ordinance NC. 15166 Al ORDI Al CE CT TATE CITY 07 PFAUMONT OTEATING A REVOLVING FUND FOR STREET I,"a;FROVEt ENT PURTDOSES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1.- That there is hereby created a revolving fund, as provided for and authorized by Act $217, General Laws of the State of California, being an act entitled "An act to authorize and empower legislative bodies of municipal corpor- ations to establish, maintain, use and reimburse revolving funds in connection with or incident to the laying out, construction or improvement of streets or other public work or the acquisition of lands, rights of way or other property necessary therefor", approved April 30, 195, to be used for any or all of the following purposes; viz., the establishing, laying out, opening, widening, extending, straightening, constructing, improving or altering of streets, highways, boulevards and public ways in the City of Beaumont, or the establishing, modifying or changing the grade thereof, or the construction of the necessary pavements, curbs, sidewalks, culverts, bridges, tunnels, viaducts and other structures, in the City of Beaumont, also in^luding the acquisition of any lands or rights of way or other property necessary for such purposes, whether the cost of any said work or improvement is to be paid for by dpecisal assessments or out of any general or special fund of the City of Beaumont. SECTION 2. That the City Treasurer of the City of Beaumont shall transfer to and deposit in such revolving fund such moneys or funds, authorized by said Act 8217 to be transferred to and deposited. in such revolving fund, as the City Council of the City of Beaumont may from time to tine by resolution direct. SECTION 3. That any moneys in said revolving fund may be appropriated for and expended for>i_,y of the purposes enumer- ated in Section 1 of this ordinance, including incidental expenses thereof, by resolution of the City Council of the City of Beaumont. SECTION 4. That the Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circula- tion, printed, published and circulated in the City of Beaumont, and thirty days after its adoption, it shall be in full force and affect.
