HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 1711 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 !0 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 ORDINANCE NO 1/,` ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DESIGNATING THE INTERSECTION OF CALIFORNIA AVENUE AND EIGHTH STREET IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AS A STOP INTE*SECTION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The intersection of California Avenue and Eighth Street, in the City of Beaumont, California, is hereby declared and designated as and to be a boulevard stop intersection, and all vehicles are required to come to a stop before entering said intersection. Section 2. There is hereby authorized and directed to be erected on the right hand side of the four entrances of said intersection, near the curb, a boulevard stop sign of the type, lettering and dimensions required by the Vehicle Code of the State of California, and at the height provided by the laws of the State of California. Section 3. That the violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed and is hereby made a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of not more than fifty dollars, or imprisonment in the City Jail for not more than thirty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 4. That it is hereby declared unlawful for the Operatorof any vehicle to fail br neglect to come to a full stop before entering into said intersection. Section 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation printed, published and circulated in the City of Beaumont, and thirty days after its adoption it shall be in full force and effect, provided said stop signs provided for in this ordinance have been erected, and if not, it shall become effective when said stop signs are so erected.
