ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AMENDING SUBDIVISION
(b) OF SECTION 128 , and SECTION 159, OF ORDINANCE No. 141.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Subdivision (b) of Section 128 of
Ordinance No. 141 of the City of Beaumont be and it is hereby
amended to read as follows:
(b) For every seller of goods or merchandise on the
streets or stands not otherwise mentioned in or covered by
this ordinance, $25.00 per day.
Section 2. That Section 159 of Ordinance No. 141 of
tie City of Beaumont be amended to read as follows:
;59. SOUVENIR PEDDLERS: For every person engaged in or
carrying on the business of a peddler of flags, banners, ball-
oons, canes, horns, trumpets, musical or noise -making
instruments of any kind, toys, badges, buttons, shoestrings,
hairpins, lead pencils, combs, or souvenirs of any kind,
25.00 per day.
For the purpose of this ordinance a peddler is defined
to be and includes every person not having a regularly establish-
ed place of business in the City of Beaumont, and/or who travels
from place to place, or has a stand upon any public place,
doorway or any room or building, unenclosed or vacant lot, or
parcel of land, who sells, or offers for sale, any goods, wares
or merchandise in his possession.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance, and shall cause the same to be
published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper in general
circulation printed, published and circulated in the City
of Beaumont, and thirty days after adoption it shall be in
full force and effect.

CERTIFICATE OF CLERK:
I, Bernice Conine, Clerk of the City of Beaumont, do
certify that the foregoing Orainance, being Ordinance No.
172 , was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Beaumont, held on the 23rd.
day of February, 1936, and was duly passed and adopted by the
said City Council at a regular meeting of said City Council
duly held on the 9th. day of March, 1936, by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmen Pegram, Brown, Prendergast and Samson.
NOES: Councilmen None.
ABSENT: Councilmen Rouen.
