HARRINGTON 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 .5 0 15 • v 16 I• vo �w v 17 w � 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 ORDINANCE NO /73 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT REGULATING THE FACING OF BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES ON LOTS IN SAID CITY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS. Section 1. It shall be unlawful to erect, place or construct on any lot or lots within the City of Beaumont any building or structure, the rear of which faces or is toward any street which adjoins the lot or lots on which such building or structure is erected, placed or constructed. Section 2. A violation of this ordinance shall be and is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of not more than three hundred dollors, or by not more than three months imprissanment in the City Jail. Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and shall take effect immediately. The following is a statement of the facts constituting such neceasity: The City of Beaumont has recently created a Planning Commission, as provided by law, which Commission is collecting data and making surgeys to the end that a comprehensive, long term general plan for the physical develocment of the City of Beau- mont, including its beautification, may be adopted, and has recommended that this ordinance be passed as such plan contem- plates regulating locating of buildings or structures on lots within the city and prohibiting any building or structure having its rear facing any adjoining street of the property on which such building or structure is located, and pending the completion of such plan, and its adoption, if buildings or structures are permitted to be erected, placed or constructed the rear of which face any street adjoining the property on which :such building or structure is erected, constructed or placed, prior to the adoption and completion of said comprehensive long terra pian, then such plan will be ineffective in part in that such building or structure so erected, constructed or placed will not be in harmony with any btti±ding or structure that maythereafter be erected, placed or constructed on adjoinir ; properties, and to that extent defeat said plan. Section 4. The City '>Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance, and it shall be published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, published, printed and circulated in Beaumont, California, and it Shall take -effect irnnrXe d i at e ly .
