Section 1. The amount of money necessary to be raided by taxation ,upon the taxable ;:property in the City of Beaumont, excl give cf all sums tc be raised to :,ay the bonded and interest indebte:,ineas of the City of Beaumont, as a revenue to carry on the variouc .aepartrr.enta of the City of Beaumont for the current year, is hereby fixed at the sum cf 6,1+17.6O; nw the amount ount to be raised to pay the bonded and interest in-- debteanea e of the city of Beaumont for the current year is :hereby fixed at 7 b.00; and the amount to _e raised for the Lighting Yaintenance Fund of the City of Beaumont for the current year is hereby fixed at :1075.00; and the :::.aunt to be raiaeu for the aelinuencies on the 1915 Improvement Bond Act bon of the City of Beaumont, Series "A" bonds, the aum of .:64 1.78. Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance and to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and the facts constituting its urgency are hereby states and declared to be as follows: It is reuired by law that an oruin.nce be cawed fixing the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property in the City of Beaumont as a revenue to carry on the various departments of the City Government and to pay its bonded and other indebtedness for the current year, and that no later than the lest Tuesday in August the rate of tax be fixed; and there will not be sufficient time elapse between the time of the adoption of this oraiance and the last Tuesday in August of this year to ena%le its passage otherwise than as an erner.:-ency ordinance and have it in effect by said last Tuesday in August, when it rust be in effect in order to ccm:ly with the law with reference to the fixing of the rate cf taxes and amount as aforesaid; and, if the rate of taxes is not so fixed, the City of B'eau:i:ont will be without funds to operate its various departments of government during the cur— rent year and to gay its bonded and other indebt e.ane sa, upon which aepen e the public health, peace and safety. Section 3. The City Clerk. shall certify to the passage and adoption of thin ordinance, and ahail cause the same to be pubiiehea once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, Kiri:: ted, published and circulated in the City of Beaumont, and it shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adaption.
