ORDINANCE NO. 190
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AMENDING ORDINANCE
No. 143, Section 9, thereof, PROVIDING FOR FEES FOR
ELECTRICAL INSPECTION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 9 of Ordinance No. 143 of the
City of Beaumont, adopted May 2 1934 be and it is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 9. FEES. Any person, firm, corporation or
political subdivision shall pay the Electrical Inspector
the following fees before a permit is issued, to wit:
For issuing permits, each .50
For sockets, or outlets, or radio antennae, or
combination, each .05
For each motor of not more than 1 h.p. .25
plus for each additional h.p. or fraction .05
For each generator each K.V.A. capactity shall be
considered as one h.p. in a motor.
For each motor -generator set the fee charged shall be
50% greater than for the motor alone.
For each temporary motor, the same fee as for moving.
For each moving of motors and/or generators upon
which a final certificate has been formerly issued by
the City Electrical Inspector, a fee of 50% of the
former fee shall be charged.
For each mercury arc lamp and equipment .50
For each projection machine, dissolver, etc. 1.00
For each range or heater installation .25
For electic signs, each lamp .02i
For luminous gas type electric signs, each 1.00
For each electric welder 1.00
For each mercury arc rectifier and synchronous
converter 1.00
For extra inspection made necessary by defective
workmanship or materials, each 1.00
For each inspection of any electrical equipment
or installation for which no fee is prescribed herein 1.00
EXCEPT, that in cases of new construction where a
building permit is taken out under the provisions of the
Uniform Building Code adopted by the City of Beaumont
and the fees therein provided for are paid, no additional
fees for electrical inspection or permit shall be charged,
but a fee of $1.00 shall be charged for issuance of the
electrical permit for such work; and
EXCEPT, that in cases where the reasonable value or
cost of the work and material is leas than Five Dollars
no fee or fees shall be charged, but a permit shall be
applied for and taken out.
Upon failure to make application and take out and
pay for permit and inspection fees by the second work day
after commencing work the fees shall be doubled.
No permit shall be issued unless all fees are paid in full.

Section 2, The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance, and cause the same to be published
once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circu-
lation, printed, published and circulated at Beaumont,
California, and thirty days after its adoption this ordinance
shall be in full force and effect.
