AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAU OOT AMENDING 'G SECTIN
OF ORDINANCE ?O. 162 7IVl.Yu SALARY OF CITY CLERK.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF B ALN O uT DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOTS :
Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordimence No. 102 of the
City of Beaumont, adopted March 11 1936, be amended as
follows:
Section 1. That beginnin_; with the new term of office
of the City Clerk commencing April 15 1940 the compensation of
the City Clerk of the City of Beaumont shall be and it is hereby
fixed at the rate of ONE HUNDRED DOLLtRS ('1 O.oc) per month.
Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be
,n urgency measure necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, health and safety, and shall take effect
im ediately. The fc11owing is a st=.tement cf the facts conatitu-
tine such urgency: The law erovidea the salary of the City
Clerk cannot be increased or diminished during the term of
office, and there is not sufficient time between the date
of the introduction of this er fiance and the beginning of the
new term of office of the City Clerk to p ,as this ordinance
