AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AMENDING SECTION
2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 154 OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT PRESCRIBING
TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION PERVITTED IN FIRE ZONE 1.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No.154 of the
City of Beaumont be and it is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"Section 2. In Fire Zone 1 the outer covering of all
walls of all buildings or construction shall be of not less fire
resistant materials that brick, concrete, tile or atone, and
the outer covering of all roofs of all buildings or conetruo-
tion shall be of not less fire resistant materials than
composition roof covering; EXCEPT, fronts of buildings or conete-
uotion used for stores may be of not less fire resistant
materials than two coats of stucco on metal lath or 16 gauge
wire of not more than ij- inch mesh with rows of fire blocks
not more than six feet apart the same size as the studding
used.
Section 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance, and shall cause same to be
published in The Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general
circulation printed and published in the City of Beaumont,
California, and thirty days after adoption it shall be in
full force and effect.
