PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution #96-233, the Borough of Carteret entered into
a contract with Barry Albin, Esq. to provide legal services on behalf of the Borough
of the Borough of Carteret, in the matter titled State v. Connolly; and
WtlEREAS, the maximum amount of fees authorized under said resolution have
been expended; and
WHEREAS, the legal services contract needs to be amended to increase the amount
of fees authorized to be expended; and
Wl~EREAS, legal services are a professional service exempt from the requirements
of competitive bidding pursuant to NJ. SA. 40A: 11-5(1) (a); and
WltEREAS, the Local Finance Officer has certified that funds are available;
NOW, TItEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the contract amendment in an amount of
$2,077.36.
BE IT FUI~'[IER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute the amendment to the contract.
IT IS FURTltER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with N.JS.A. 40A:1105 (1) (a) due to the specialized and
professional nature of the sen, ices provided.
BE IT FURTHF. R RESOLVED that a notice of this action shall be published in The
Home News Tribune on February 25, 1997.

and certified as a true copy of the original
on February 21, 1997.
