THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUONT DOES ORDAIN
AS MUTT:
Section 1. That the amount of money necessary -to be
raised by taxation u^on the taxable property in the City
of Beaumont, exclusive of all sums to be raised to pay the
be-nded and interest indebtedness of the City of Beaumont, as
a revenue to carry on the various departments of the City
of Beaumont for the current year, 1942-1943, is hereby fixed
at t9055.80; and the arr.cunt to be raised to pay the bonded
and interest indebtedness of the City of Beaumont for the
said current year is hereby fixed at 5433.1+1 and the amount
to be raised for the Lighting Maintenance Fund of the City
of Beaumont for the current year is hereby fixed at 2059,20;
and the amount to be raised for the Public Parks Fund of the
e ity of Beaumont is the sum of °.(305.58; and the amount to be
raised for the delinquencies on the 1.915 Improvement Bond Act
bonds of the City of Beaumont outstanding are as follows:
On Series D bonds the sum of
On Series G bonds the sura of e.905.58;
On Series F bonds the sum of 5L!-52.79;
On Series F bonds the sura of :1.1-52.79;
.And f cr Capital Outlays Fund the sun of _k°9O5. 5 ,which fund
is hereby created,
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency ordinance, and to be necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and the
facts constituting its urgency are hereby atated and declared
to be a; follows:
It is require:.'• by law that an ordinance be paesed
fixing the amount of money neceseary: to be raised by taxation
upon the taxable eroperty in the City of Beaumont as a
revenue to carry on the various departments of the City
Government and to pay its bonded and other indebtedness for the
cu gent year, and that no later than the last Tuesday in
August the rate of tax be fixed; and there. 11 not be suf-
ficient time elapse between the time of the adoption of this
card inane and the last Tuesday in August of this year to enable
its passage other.^rise than as ail erg ency ordinance and have
it in effect by said last Tuesday in August, when it must be
in effect in order to comely with the law with reference to
the fixing of the rate of taxes and amount as aforesaid. If
the rate of taxes is not so f ixed, the City of Beaumont will be
without adequate funds t o op era e i1;s ear ious d apartments of
government during the current year and to pay its bonded and
other indebtedness, upon which depends the public health,
peace and safety.

section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance, and shall cause the
same to be published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a
newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in the City of neLor:t, and it shall be ir: full
Force and effect ir..r edia; Lely upon its adoption.
