AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 191 OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, ADOPTED MARCH
13, 1940, BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS
SECTION 1-x.
THE CITY CODUCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 191
of the City of Beaumont, adopted March 13 1940, be and it is
hereby amended by adding thereto a new subsection to be known
as Section 1-x to read as follows:
Section 1-z. "PAMPHLET AND LITERATURE BUSINESS"
shall mean the selling or offering for gale by any person,
whether as principal or agent, clerk or employee, either
for himself or for any other person, or for any body corporate,
or as an officer of a corporation, or otherwise, either at a
fixed place of business or on the streets or sidewalks of
Beaumont, California, of pamphlets, literature or books,
symbols or signs,
and is hereby fixed as the sum of $ 'AP °
That the license fee for such business shall be�ar�j

payable in advance.
Section 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance, and shill cause the same to be
published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of
general air oulation published at Beaumont, California, and
thirty days after adoption it shall be in full force and
effect.
