AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUi;DONT FIXING THE AMOUNT OF
MONEY NECESSARY TO 3E RAISED BY TAXATION JPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY
IN THE CITY OF BEAUI:PO .T FOR TEE OC Rr'INT YEAR 1944-1945.
TIS; CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BNAU -ONT DOES ORDAIN AS
FLLOINS :
Section 1. That the amount of money necessary to be raised
by taxation upon the taxable property in the City of Beaumont, exclusive
of all sums to be raised to xray the bonded and interest indebtedness
of the City of Beaumont, as a revenue to carry on the various depart-
ments of the City of Beaumont for the current year 1944-1945 is hereby
fixed at 01,349.30;
And the anount to be raised to pay the bonded and interest
indebtedness of the City of Beaumont for the current year 1944-1945
is hereby fixed at 01134.93;
And the amount to be raised for the Lighting Maintenance
Fund of the City of Beaumont for the current year 1944-1945 is hereby
fixed at 42100.30;
And the amount to be raised for the Public Parks Fund of the
City of Beaumont for the current year 1944-1945 is hereby fixed at
01134.93;
And the amount to be raised for the Capital Outlays Fund for
the current year 1944-1945 is hereby fixed at 991134..93;
And the amount to be raised for the delinquencies on the
Series D bond issue of the City of Beaumont for the current year 1944-
194.5 is hereby fixed at 4;1134.93;
.Paid the amount to be reaised for the delinquencies on the
Series # bond issue of the City of Beaumont for the current year
1944-1945 is hereby fixed at 0.134.93.
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby delcared to be an
emergency ordinance, and to be necessaby for the immediate preservation
of 'she public peace, health and safety, and the facts constituting its
urgency are hereby stated and declared to be as follows:
It is required by law that an ordinance be adopted fixing
the mount of money necesary to bo raised by taxation upon the taxable
property in the City of Beaumont as a revenue to carry on the various
departments of the City of Beaumont and to pay. its bonded and other
indebtedness for the current year 1944-1945, and that no later than
the last Tuesday in August the rate of tax be fixed; and there will
not be sufficient time el74ise between the time of the adoption of
this ordinance and the last Tuesday in Auust of this year to enable
its passage otherwise than as an emergency ordinance and have it in
effect by said last Tuesday in August, when it must be in effect in
order to comply with the law with reference to the fixing; of therate
of taxes; and if said rate is not fixed the City of Beaumiont will be
without funds with which. to operate its various departments and to pay
its bonded and other indebtedness, upon Which depends the public health,
pea ceuid safety.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
thir ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published once in the
Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published
and circulated in the City of Beaumont, and it shall 'De in full force
and effect immediately upon its adoption.
