AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUNMONT FIXING TEE TiAMOUNT OF MONEY NECESSARY TO BE Rr,ISED BY TAXATION UPON TEE TAXABLE PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BEAU ONT FOR TEE FISCAL YEAR 1945-46. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property in the City of Beaumont, exclusive of all sums to be raised to pay the bonded and interest indebtedness of the City of Beaumont, for the general fund as a revenue to carry on the various departments of government of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1945-46 is hereby fixed at 412,008.80; And the amount to be raised to pay the bonded and interest indebted- ness of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1945-46 is hereby fixed at $1,813.20; And the amount to be raised for the Lighting Maintenance Fund of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1945-46 is hereby fixed at X2,137.70; And the amount to be raised for the Public Parks fund for the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1945-46 is hereby fixed at $1,200.88; And the amount to be raised for the Capital Outlays fund for the fiscal year 1945-46 is hereby fixed at 41,200.88; And the amount to be raised for the delinquencies on the Series D bond issue of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1945-46 is hereby fixed at 1,200.88; And the amount to be raised for the delinquencies on the Series E bond issue of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1945-46 is hereby fixed at 4604.40 Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance, and to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and the facts constituting its urgency are hereby stated and declared to be as follows: It is required by law that an ordinance be adopted fixing the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property in the City of Beaumont as a revenue to carry on the various departments of the government of the City of Beaumont and to pay its bonded and other in- debtedness and expenses for the fiscal year 1945-46, and that no later than the last Tuesday in August the rate of tax be fixed; and there will not be sufficient time elapse between the time of the adoption of this ordinance and the last Tuesday in August of this year to enable its passage otherwise than as an emergency ordinance and have it in effect by :said last Tuesday in August, when it roust be in effect in order to comply with the law with reference to the fixing of the rate of taxes of said City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1945-46; and if said rate is not fixed the City of Beaumont will be without funds with which to operate its various departments of government, and to pay its bonded and other indebtedness and expenses, upon which depends the public health,oeace and safety. Section 3. The Cita Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Beaumont, and it shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption.
