AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, AMENDING SECTION
5 OF ORDINANCE NO. 191 OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
The CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS, TO -WIT:
Section 1
Thai Section 5 of Ordinance No. 191 of the City of
Beaumont, adopted on the 13th day of March, 1940, be and
jt is hereby amended by being supplemented as follows:
For every person, firm or corporation cosdueting
managing or carrying on or engaged in the business of
selling at auctinn.ani personal property whatsoever,
1)00.1° per calendar year or fraction thereof,
payable in advance, provided however the provisions of
this amendment shall not apply to any' per son, firm or
corporation having an establistbed and permanent place of
business in the City of Beaumont and, paying a license to
the said City therefor, who may auction any goods, wares
or merchandise for purposes of winding up the affairs of
said business or the purpose of closing out any special
line of goods, wares and merchandise or other personal
property that may be in their possessior., at the commence-
ment of said auction at said place of business or place where
said property is regularly kept without the making a regular
practise of so doing or without adding to said stock to be
auctioned after the commencement of said auction.
The foregoing license fee is not to be and cannot be
pro -rated for any period less than one (1) year or for any
fixed number of auctions.
Section 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
ordinance, and cause the same to be published once in the
Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation printed
and published in the City of Beaumont, and thirty days after
adoption it shall be in full force' and effect.
ADOPTED the 31sttdiay of July , 1946.
