A GENERAL ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 76 OF THE CITY OF
RICHMOND CODE REGARDING ONE-WAY STREETS
WHEREAS, Schedule II of Chapter 76 of the Richmond City Code currently provides
that North and South 6"' Street shall be a one-way street running south
from Fort Wayne Avenue to South `H' Street; and
WHEREAS, Schedule II of Chapter 76 of the Richmond City Code also currently
provides that North and South 7' Street shall be a one-way street running
north from South `E' Street to North `D' Street; and
WHEREAS, the plans for the redevelopment of the Richmond downtown have
determined that it is best to eliminate the above one-way street
designations and return such streets to two-way traffic; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Richmond, and consistent with the
plans for downtown development to return the above streets to two-way
traffic.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond that Schedule II of Chapter 76 of the Richmond City Code be amended to
eliminate the following streets from a one-way street designation, to -wit:
North and South 6"' Street — From Fort Wayne Avenue to South `H' Street
North and South 7" Street — From South `E' Street to North `D' Street
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall take effect upon a date
designated by the Board of Public Works and Safety in conjunction with the downtown
development.
