HomeMy Public PortalAbout2021.106 - (09-07-21) RESOLUTION NO. 2021.106 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ACCEPTING THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATION AT TWELVE INTERSECTIONS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP NO. 4011.68.034) AS COMPLETE; AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY RECORDER'S OFFICE AND THE RELEASE OF THE 5% RETENTION 35 DAYS AFTER THE ACCEPTANCE. WHEREAS, on April 4, 2017, the City awarded the contract through a piggyback procurement process based on the City's scope of work and the unit prices under the-- County heCounty of Los Angeles "As Needed Traffic Signal Construction Project 2015-16" contract dated December 28, 2015; and WHEREAS, on April 4, 2017, City Council approved an initial budget' of $1,408,132. The funding source approved was from the Proposition C (Fund 2351) (Resolution 2017.051); and WHEREAS, on April 3, 2018, City Council approved an additional appropriation in the amount of$360,044. The funding source approved was from the Proposition C (Fund 2351) (Resolution 2018.053); and WHEREAS, the total approved budget for this project since the project start date is $1, 772,456.56the total approved budget for this project was for$1,768,176. WHEREAS, the construction on of the Project started on November 6, 2017. The project completion was on May 20, 2021; and WHEREAS, on April 4, 2017, the City Council authorized the City Manager under LMC 6-3.15(d)to exceed the specific dollar amounts or percentage limitations under LMC 6-3.15(a) and authorized the City Manager to approve consultant, vendor agreements, modifications, change orders or agreement amendments related to the Project up to the available Project Budgets (Resolution 2017.051); and WHEREAS, the City Manager approved seven (7) contract change orders for the total amount of$511,372.27 (See attachment A); and WHEREAS, staff conducted the final inspection on May 20, 2021 and found that all work was completed in accordance with the project plans and specifications. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood accepts the Traffic Signal Modification at 12 Intersections (CIP No.4011.68.034) as complete in accordance 1 with contract documents and authorizes the Direct of Public Works or his designee to process the recordation of the Notice of Completion. Section 2. This resolution shalt go into effect immediately upon its adoption. Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
