A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CERTAIN
INDIVIDUALS TO ACCEPT PENSION LIABILITY ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
WHEREAS, the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) by memorandum dated
September, 1982, requires all PERF employers to designate and authorize
individuals to respond to inquiries for verification of years of creditable
service for an employee with their employer; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond, Indiana is a PERF employer.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana:
A. That the City Controller, Shelley Miller, and the Director of Human
Resources, Janet Hibner, be and are hereby authorized to act on behalf of
the City of Richmond, Indiana, as agents to accept pension liability
pursuant to Indiana Code 5-10.2-3-1, and execute all documents related to
the Public Employees' Retirement Fund of Indiana.
B. That each of the above persons can act individually on behalf of the City.
C. That this authority shall remain in full force and effect until modified or
rescinded by subsequent ordinance.
Passed and adopted this ac day of 1997, by the Common Council of
the City of Richmond, Indiana.
