Home My Public Portal AboutRES2021-01_Building Inspection and Fees_03162021RESOLUTION NO. 2021-01 A Resolution Designating City Health & Safety Inspectors and Specifying Inspection Fees WHEREAS , pursuant to the provisions of Idaho Code § 39-4116, the City of Iona has adopted various health and safety codes , including the 2018 International Building Code , the 2015 International Existing Building Code , the 2015 Idaho (Uniform) Plumbing Code , the 2015 IECC with 2012 amendments for Residential portion , the 2015 Idaho Fire Code , the 2017 National Electrical Code , the 2018 International Residential Code , the 2012 International Fuel and Gas Code , and the 2012 International Mechanical Code , all subject to Idaho Code §§ 39- 4109 and 39-4116 and the Idaho Administrative Rules (see Iona City Code§ 7-1-1); WHEREAS , pursuant to the provisions of Idaho Code § 39-4116, the City has authority to contract with a public or private entity or individual to administer its code enforcement programs ; WHEREAS , the City does not currently employ a full-time building inspector and whereas the City Council has determined that it would be more economical to employ a part- time building inspector for the purpose of administering and enforcing the provisions of its electrical and plumbing codes ; WHEREAS , Brent Purcell is qualified and certified under the provisions of Idaho Code § 39-4108 to inspect buildings and other occupancy classifications under said Codes and is willing to do so ; WHEREAS , Greg McBride is qualified and certified under the pro v isions of Idaho Code § 39-4108 to inspect buildings and other occupancy classifications under said Codes and is willing to do so ; and WHEREAS , Allen Eldridge is qualified and certified under the provisions of Idaho Code § 39-4108 to inspect buildings and other occupancy classifications under said Codes and is willing to do so. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IONA, IDAHO: Page 1 of3 1. Brent Purcell is hereby appointed as the electrical inspector for the City of Iona, for a term commencing on April 1, 2021 , and terminating on March 31, 2023. 2. Greg McBride is hereby appointed as the mechanical/plumbing inspector for the City of Iona, for a term commencing on April 1, 2021, and terminating on March 31, 2023. 3. Allen Eldridge is hereby appointed as the building inspector for the City of Iona, for a term commencing on April 1, 2021, and terminating on March 31, 2023. 4. Such appointment shall be at the sole discretion of the Mayor and City Council and such appointment may be terminated at any time, with or without cause. Such appointment shall also be in accordance with such terms and conditions as may be determined by the Mayor and City Council in a separate independent contract approved by the Council. 5. This resolution , including the fees and collection authorization described herein shall become effective upon its passage , execution, and publication in the manner provided by law.
