2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY oF BEAUMONT FIXING THE AMOUNT OF
3 MONEY NECESSARY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION UPON THE TAXABLE ROPERTY
4 IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1950-51.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 13EAUVTON1 DOES ORDAIN AS
6 FOLLOuuS, to -wit:
7 SECTION 1. That the amount of money necessary to be raised
8 by taxation upon the taxable property in the City of Beaumont, ex -
9 elusive of all sums to be raised to pay the bonded and interest in -
10 debtedness of the City of Beaumont, for the general fund as a
11 revenue to carry on the various departments of government of the
12 City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1950-51 is hereby fixed at
13 ,23,4 4.37.
14 And the amount to be raised to pay the bonded and interest
15 indebtedness of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1950-51
16 is hereby fixed at „-7,818.12.
17 And the amount to be raised for the Lighting Maintenance
18 Fund of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1950-51 is here -
19 by fixed at ,V5,249.07.
20 And the amount to be raised for the Public Parks fund for
21 the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1950-51 is hereby fixed
22 at 4'3,127.25.
23 SECTION 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an
24 emergency ordinance, and to be necessary for the immediate preser-
25 vation of the public peace, health and safety and the facts con -
26 stituting its urgency are hereby stated and declared to be as
27 follows:
28 It is required by law that an ordinance be adopted fixing
29 the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the
30 taxaule property in the City of Beaumont as a revenue to carry
31 on the various departments of the government of the City of Beau -
32 mont and to pay its bonded and other indebtedness and expenses
1 for the fiscal year 1950-b1, and that no later than the last Tues -
2 day in August the rate of tax be fixed; and there will not be
3 sufficient time elapse between the time of the adoption of this
4 ordinance and the last Tuesday in August of this year to enable its
5 passage otherwise than as an emergency ordinance and have it in ef-
6 fect by said last Tuesday in August, when it must be in effect in
7 order to comply with the law with reference .to the fixing of the
8 rate of taxes of said City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1950-51;
9 and if said rate is not fixed the City of Beaumont will be without
10 funds with which to operate its various departments of government,
11 and to pay its bonded and other indebtedness and expenses, upon
12 which depends the public health, peace and safety.
13 SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
14 of this Ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published once
15 in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation,
16 printed, published and circulated in the City of Beaumont, and it
17 shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption.
