THL CITY COUNCIL OF THL CITY OF TIAJTMONT DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: V'IHEREAS, the County Auditor of the County of Riverside, State of California, did before the second Yonday of Aumist, 1952, in compliance with law transmit to the City Council of the City of 3eaumont, California, a statement in writing showing the total value of all taxable property within the City of Beaumont duly ascertained from the assessment books of said County of Riverside for the fiscal year 1952-53, as equalized and corrected by the Board of Supervisors of the County of iiverside; and iEREAS, the City Council of said City of Beaumont did prior to the adoption of this ordinance duly pass and adopt an Ordinance of the City of Beaumont fixing thereby and therein the amount of money to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property in the City of Beaumont, as a revenue to carry on the various departments of the government of the said City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1952-53, as follows: For the General Fund, the sum of 5.194.43 ftA)r the Bonded and. Interest Indebtedness, the sum of ',;6,997.3 Per te Lightirg Faintenance 7und, the sum of ,968.57 For the Public Parks Fund, the sum e_ SECTION 1. That the rate of taxes, which said taxes are to be raised h7 taxation on the taxable property in the City of Beaumont as a revenue to carry on the various depart- ments of overnment of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1952-53, using RS a basis the value of the taxable property of the City of Beaumont as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of Riverside, as the same has been equalized, and so returned by the County of Riverside, as required by law, be and tho same Is hereby fixed as follows, to it: For the General Fund, 90V upon each one hundred dollars of such taxable property; For the Bonded and Interest Fund,'24 upon each one hundred dollars of such taxable property; For the Lighting Maintenance Fund 55V on each one hundred dollars of ouch. taxable real estate, exclusive of ;1-1- orovements. For the Public Parks Fund, 14 upon each:one hundred dollars of such taxable property. LECTION 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance, and. to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and the facts constituting its urgency are hereby stated and de- clared to be as follows: It is required by law that an ordinance be 'dooted fixing the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property in the City of ,_%onumont as CI revenue to carry on the various deoartmonts of the govern- ment of the Cit7 of Beaumont and to pay its bonded and other indebtedness and ex'aenses for the fiscal year 1952-53, end that no later than the last Tuesday In Au,ust the rete of tax be fixed; ad there will not be suffio'ent tine clause between the time of tdc adoption of t'is or'InancE and the last Tuesday in August of this year to enable its passae otherwise than as an emergency ordinance arca have it in ef- fect by said last Tuesday In Auzust, when it must be in ef- fect in order to comp;y with the law with reference to the fixin o' the rate of taxes of said City of Beaumont for the fiscal year 1952-53; and if said rate is not fIxEd the City ;ouncil will be without funds with which to operate its various departments of tovernment, and to pay its bonded and other indebte3ness and expenses, upon ,!,hich depends the public health, peace an spfety. :,.siCTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adopt- ion of this ordinance, and shall cause the same to be Pub- lished once in t'le 3eaumont Gazette, a newspaper of 'oneral circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of 3eaumont, and it shall he in full force and effect im- mediately upon its )1option.
