raised by taxation upon the taxable propert: in the city of beau-
:mont, exclusive of all sums to be raised to pay the bonded and
interest indebtedness of the City of :Deaumont, for the general
fund as a revenue to carry on the various departments of govern-
ment of the City of teauxnont for the fiscal year 1956-57 is
hereby fixed at p 44,530.20

SECTION 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency ordinance, and to be necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the lublic ' eace, health and safety and the facts con-
stituting its urency are hereby stated and declared to be as
follows:
It is required by law that an ordinance be adopted fixing
the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the
taxable ,)roperty in the City of eaumc)nt as a revenue to carry
on the various departments of the .government of the City of beau-
rnont and to nay its bonded and other indebtedness and expenses
for the fiscal year 1956-57, and that no later than the last Tues-
day in ..ugust the rate of tax be fixed; and there will not be
sufficient time elapse between the time of the adoption of this
ordinance and the last Tuesday in .:august of t is year to enable its
passage otherwise than as an emergency ordinance andhave it in
effect by said last Tuesday in rugust, when it must be in effect in
order to comply with the law with reference to the fixing of the
rate of taxes of said City of .Beaumont for the fiscal year 1956-57;
and if said rate Is not fixed the City of Dealmont will be without
funds with which to operate its various departments of government,
and to pay its bonded and other:• indebtedness and expenses, upon
which depends the public health, peace and safety,
0LCT64 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of ti -is ordinance, and shall cause the same to be Published once
in the ieaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of eaumont, and it
shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption.
