ORDINANCE NO. 289
AN ORDINANCE A. SENDING ARTICLE 24 OP ORDINANCE NO. 282
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA BY SUBSTITUTING
THEREFOR A NEW ARTICLE 24HICH SHALL ESTfi3LISH SET BACK
LINES NOT LESS THAN THREE tEET FROM THE LINE CONSTITUTING
THE COMMON BOUNDARY OF SIXTH STREET.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEi,Ui,iON`i DOLS ORDAIN AS FOLLOS :
SECTION 1. Article 24 of Ordinance No. 282 of the City of
Beaumont is hereby amended by substituting for said Article 24
a new Article 24, and which shall read as follows:
ARTICLE 24. SET BACK LINES: Notwithstanding anything to the
contrary in this Article contained, no building or structure shall
be placed or constructed less than three (3) feet distant from the
line constituting the common boundary of Sixth Street, unless a
modification be made by variance as provided in Article 16 of this
ordineince .
SECTION 2. The City Clerk of the City of Beaumont shall
certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same
to be published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed, published, and circulated in the City
of Beaumont, and thirty (30) days after its adoption this ordinance
shall be in full force and. effect.

hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 289
of the City of Beaumont, was introduced and read at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Beaumont, duly held on the 24th
day of July 1957, and that the same was duly passed and adppteT at
a regular meeting of said City Council duly held on the 14 day of j
August. 1957.
Ayes: Councilmen Nunez, Lard, bridges, Carman and Coverdale.
