BEAUNONT AL'ENDING ORDINANCE NO. 191 BY ADDING A NE4 SECTION NO. 1-i (a) , AND BY AMENDING SECTION II OF ORDINANCI: NO. 284 IN ITS ENTIRETY, ALL PERTAIN- ING TO THE LICENSING FOR THE PURPOSES OF REVENUE ALL AND EVERY KIND OF BUSINESS CARRIED ON IN THE CITY Or BEAUMONT. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THL CITY vF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Ordinance No. 191 is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section, No. 1-1(a), to read as follows: SECTION 1-i(a): Employee shall mean a person who receives his compensation from any employer that carries workman's compensa- tion, makes all necessary payroll deductions from said compen- sation, including withholding tax and social security deduc- tions, and assumes all other responsibilities as an employer. Any person who is not an employee shall be deemed self-employed and engaged in business for himself subject to the provisions of Ordinance No. 191 as amended, and this Ordinance. Section 2: Section II of Ordinance No. 284 is hereby amended in its entirety, to read as follows: SECTION II: LICENSE FEES. The rate of license fees are hereby fixed as follows, to -wit: Contractor, Subcontractor, or a Self-employed person who engages in any of the building trades as enumerated in Section III of Ordinance No. 284, having a regularly established place of business in the City of Beaumont, per annum . . . . 450.00 Contractor, Subcontractor, or a Self-employed person who engages in any of the building trades as enumerated in Section III of Ordinance No. 284, not having a regularly established place of business in the City of Beaumont, per annum . :100.00 PROVIDED HO,VVER, that on or after the 1st day of July, 1958, every contractor, subcontractor, or self-employed person who engages in any of the building trades as enumerated in Section III of Ordinance No. 284, not having a regularly esta- blished place of business in the City of Beaumont, upon making application for the renewal of a license which has not lapsed for a period in excess of thirty (30) days, per annum . 450.00 Miscellaneous License Fees: Auctioneers, per year or fraction thereof 4600.00 Rooming House business, 3 to 15 rooms, per year . . . 24.00 Rooming House business, 15 rooms or over, per year . 36.00 Peddler, per year 4100.00 Retail solicitor, per year 50.00 Provided however, the license fee of such a retail solicitor, if his principal place of business shall be in a community, location or city other than the City of Beaumont, such fee shall be per year . . .100.00 Itinerant Vendor, per day . . 8.00i' Circus, per day . 50.00 Sideshow, or Carnival, per day •• , . . . . . . 50.00 Fortune Teller, per quarter . 300.00 Retail Business by vehicle per.year , 48.00 Wholesale Business by vehicle, per year . 12.00 Advertising Vehicle, per day . . . . 2.50 On Sale Liquor business, per year . 100.00 Coin Operated Machine business, per year . . . . 100.00 All other businesses not hereinabove specifically enumerated, per year PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 27th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1957.
