1). Before an application for relocation may be applied for, a
termite certificate must be secured and. deposited with the Department of
Building and Safetlr n the City of Beaumont. An application for relocation
must he obtained for each separate building for which a fee of Twenty (20.00)
Dollars is required.
2). An inspection will be made of the buildings to determine their
present condition. Requirements necessary to reconstruct the building to
meet present day code requirements will be entered on a check sheet. The
owner or agent wi11 receive one copy showing the required correction, if the
bLrild inM is acceptable for relocation. Planning Commission ssion approva_1 ie rec-
essays in the moving of all buildings. Property owners in the area. in which
the tuildin is to be moved must be notified. The names and addresses to be
famished by applicant and notices of public hearing before the Planning
Comrii_ssion will be mailed to all property owners in the following described
area.
The zone of interest shall include all property on both sides of the
same street or streets as the property to which it is proposed to move the
building, any part of Tthi_ch is 275 feet or less from the nearest corner of the
property to which it is proposed_ to move the bui ld ..2g as measured on center
line of street and any property immediately opposite shat l be included and with

intersectin7 streets. In case the ,proposed location is a corner lot, the zone
of interest shall include the 'roperty or all streets on which said lot fronts
as measured above..

The Planning Commission shall receive the application at its next
regular meeting occurring_ not less than twenty (20) calendar days after the
date of filing- the applieatior. T^.th the City -3.eilding Inspector. The Planning
Commission shall hear at that time, =111 persons who may appear to support or
protest the granting of the application. The Commission ^Nall recommend that
the Council either grant or deny the application, provided, nowever, that if
twenty-five percent (25.) or more by number of the property owners within the
zone of interest protest the Granting of the application. The Com:,jssion may
recommend the granting of a permit only by unanimous vote. The said recommendation
shall he presented to the City Council for its approval or its rejection or
modification.
3). The applicant must obtain a performance bond in the amount shown
on check sheet and will present a performance bond to the Department of
Building and Safety to obtain a reconstruction, electrical, plumbing and also
roving permit. The fec for the moving permit ?:rill be Ten 010.00) Dollars
and this permit __s issued only after preceding stens have been complied with.
The moving permit will be st.i ped void after one hundred and tv.enty (120)
days and if t? v porrit is not used by this eep..ration d<-te, a per moving
permit mast be obtained and a.n a.deit e al fee of Ten (,;10.00) Dollars will be
required.
!T). All proper reconstruction inspections must be made by the Buklding
Inspector and the work to be completed rritdn one hundred and twenty (120)
days from the expiration date of the moving permit.

Occupancy of the building will not be permitted until the final
inspection has been made and approved by the Building Inspector. After the
building has been approved and the final inspection made, the Department of
Building and Safety for ie City of Beaumont will release the performance
bond.
This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency Ordinance
under Section 36937 of Government Code of California. and. to be necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety and
the facts constituting its urgency are as follows: 3y reason of the con-
templated highway re -location through the City of Beaumont, and the purchase
by the State of improved r_rcperty in the path of the contemplated bi hway,
many persons are ands 't't >ing to rove buil?.ins from. such lanes, and inasr uch
as there is no Ordnance for the proteeti.on of the City and the public,
with respect to the roving of houses upon streets vital for the protection
of the City, it is imperative that this Ordinance be immediately adopted.,
