HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 306ORDINANCE NO. 306 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT REGULATING PARKING ON GRADES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Parking on Grades. It shall be unalwful for the operator of any vehicle to stand or park said vehicle upon any street, the grade of which exceeds 37., without setting the brakes thereon and blocking the wheels of said vehicle by turning them against the curb or by other means. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency ordinance to Section 36937 of the Government Code of California and to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and the facts constituting its urgency are as follows: On a number of occasions motor vehicles have been allowed to remain unattended without blocking the wheels of said vehicles while on grades, as a direct result of which certain motor vehicles have rolled down grades causing excessive damage and inasmuch as there is no ordinance for the protection for the City and public with respect to such situations, it is imperative that this ordinance be immediately adopted.
