AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA,
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 261 OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE
OF THE "U ORM PACIFIC COAST BUILDING OFFICIALS
CONFERENCE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1958 EDITION,"
AS THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMON1,
ANu riUVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Beaumont, California, does
hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1: Ordinance No. 261 of the City of Beaumont, and
all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 2: (A) ADOPTION OF BUILDING CODE. The Um
Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference Uniform Building Code,
1958 Edition, is adopted as the Building Code of the City of
Beaumont, providing for the regulating, erection, construction,
enlargment, alteration, repair, moving, removal, conversion,
demolition, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance
of buildings and/or structures in the City of Beaumont and pro-
viding for issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor and
inspections of the same.
Each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, con-
ditions and terms of such Untissm Pacific Coast Building Officials
Conference Uniform Building Code, 1958 Edition, are hereby referred
to, adopted and made a part hereof, as though fully set forth
herein.
(b) COPIES TO BE ON FILE. Three copies of the
Building Code adopted by the preceding section shall be kept per-
manently on file in the office of the City Clerk.
(C) PENALTIES. Any person, firm or corporation
violating any of the provisions of the Code so adopted in Section
2 (A) hereof, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500.00 or
by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of not more than

six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
the Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the
Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated in the City of Beaumont, and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after its
adoption.

Section 10. That except as otherwise provided
in this ordinance, the election called hereby shall be
conducted as provided by law for other municipal elec-
tions in said city.

Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
the Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the
Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated in the City of Beaumont, and this
ordinance shall be in full force anal effect thirty days after its
adoption.
