AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA,
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 246 OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE
OF THE "WESTERN PLUMBING OFFICIALS UNIFORM PLUMB-
ING CODE, 1958 EDITION" AS THE UNIFORM PLUMBING
CODE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, AND PROVIDING PENAL-
TIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Beaumont, California, does
hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1: Ordinance No. 246 of the City of Beaumont, and
all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 2: (A) ADOPTION OF PLUMBING CODE. The Western
Plumbing Officials Uniform Plumbing Code, 1958 Edition, is adopted
as the Plumbing Code of the City of Beaumont, providing for the
protection of the public health and safety, requiring a permit and
inspection for the installation or alteration of plumbing and
drainage systems, defining certain terms, establishing minimum
regulations for the installation, alteration or repair of plumbing
and drainage systems and the inspection thereof.
Each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, con-
ditions and terms of such Western Plumbing Official Uniform Plumb-
ing Code, 1958 Edition, are hereby referred to, adopted and made
a part hereof, as though fully set forth herein, EXCEPTING Part II
thereof.
(B) COPIES TO BE ON FILE. Three copies of the
Plumbing Code adopted by the preceding section shall be kept per-
manently on file in the office of the City Clerk.
(C) PENALTIES. Any person, firm or corporation
violating any of the provisions of the Code to adopted in Section
2 (A) hereof, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500.00 or
by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of not more than
six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
