AN ORDIANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT REPEALING ORDINANCE
NO. 301 AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 282 BY ADDING TO
ARTICLF: 13 THEREOF, SECTION 19, PROVIDING REQUIREMENTS
FOR INSTALLATION OF CONCRETE CUBS AND GUTTERS)RE-
QUIRING BOUNDARY STAKES BY A LICENSED SURVEYOR,
AMENDING SUBSECTION 1, SECTION 4, ARTICLE S 4, 6, and
7 J2 SAID ORDINANCE NO. 282, AND ADDING A NEW SUB-
SECTION TO SECTION 4, ARTICLES 4, 6 and 7 TO BE KNOWN
AS SUBSECTION .3 PERTAINING TO CORNER LOT SIDE YARDS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. All provisions contained in Ordinance No. 301
are hereby repealed.
Section 2. Article 13 of Ordinance No. 282 of the City of
Beaumont is hereby amended byadding thereto Section 19 which shall
read as follows:
Section 19. Requirement for boundary stakes by a licensed
surveyor, installation of concrete curbs and gutters, or
deposit with the City Clerk of the amount of the City
Engineer's cost estimate thereof.
(E0 That prior to issuance of a building permit by the
Building Inspector of the City of Beaumont for placing
or building upon any property abutting on a public
street in the City of Beaumont, the applicant for such
building permit or the owner of said property must have
boundary stakes placed thereon by a licensed surveyor.
(b) Such applicant or owner shall install and construct
concrete curbs and gutters on the proximate side of
each public streetupon which said lot abuts parallel
to the property along the curb line according to the
determination of the City Engineer. Such curbs and
gutters shall meet the specifications as established
by the City Engineer, elevations therefor shall be in
accordance with the direction of the City Engineer of
the City of Beaumont.

(c). Such applicant or owner shall deposit with the
City Clerk of the City of Beaumont a bond (or cash
in the amount of the bond in lieu thereof) in such
amount as the City Engineer shall determine as the
estimated cost of the installation of such curbs and
gutters with authority to the City of Beaumont to
install such curbs and gutters as the applicant or
owner fails to so install such curbs and gutters
within a reasonable time after the completion of the
construction contemplated on said lot. In the event
that applicant or owner shall install such curbs and
gutters, the City Clerk shall return the bond or
refund the deposit so made upon approval of such
curbs and gutters by the Building Inspector.
Section 3. Subsections 1 of Sections 4 of Articles 4, 6, and
7 of Ordinance No. 282 are each amended so that each shall read
as follows:
Interior lots and parcels shall have a side yard on
each side of the lot or parcel, and each side yard shall be
not less than ten per cent (107) of the width of the lot or
parcel, provided such side yard shall be not less thanthree
(3) feet in width and neednot exceed five (5) feet in width.
Section 4. Sections 4 of Articles 4, 6 and 7 of Ordinance
No. 282 are hereby amended by adding to each of said Sections
4
of Articles 4, 6 and 7 a new subdivision to be known as Subsection
three (3) thereof and it shall read as follows:
(3) Corner lots and parcels shall have the follow-
ing side yards:
(a) On the street side of the lot or parcel
the side yard shall be not less than fifty per cent
(50%) of the required front yard of the lot or parc

(b) On the interior side of the lot or parcel,
the side yard shall be not less than ten per cent (1070)
of the width of the lot or parcel, provided such side
yard shall be not less than three (3) feet in width and
need not exceed five (5) feet in width.
,vection 5. All other ordinancesor parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 6. The City Clerk of the City of Beaumont shall
certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same
to be published once in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City
of Beaumont, and thirty (30) days after its adoption this Ordinance
shall be in full force and effect.

I, BERNICE CONINE, City Clerk of the City of Beaumont,
California, hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance being
Ordinance No. 327 of the City of Beaumont was introduced and read
at a regular meeting of the City Council of Beaumont, duly held on
the 28th day of November, 1960, and that the same was duly passed
and adopted at a regular meeting of said City Council duly held on
tete 12th day of December, 1960.
