AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY,
DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION N0. 9".
WHEREAS, on the 25th day of September, 1961, the City Council
adopted its Resolution No. 1572 giving notice of the proposal to
annex certain uninhabited territory pursuant to the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, designated as "Annexation No.
9;" and
WHEREAS, said resolution contained a notice of the day, hour
and place when and where the Council of the City would hear any
protests made by any person owning real property within the
territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, on the 13th day of November, 1961, at the hour of
7:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of
Beaumont, County of Riverside, State of California, said time and
place being the day, hour and place fixed in said resolution for
hearing protests to the said annexation, the said City Council
did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annex-
ation and did determine that protests had not been made by the
owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned territory
proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment
roll, nor by public owners of one-half of the value of the
publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed as determined by
said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of
Beaumont, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Riverside;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Beaumont
DOES ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. This City Council does hereby approve and order
the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City
of Beaumont.

Section 2. Said territory is more particularly described
as follows:
A portion of Lot 1 in Block 10 and a portion of Sixth
Street, 80 feet in width, as per map of the subdivision
of Section 11, T3S, R1W, SBB&M on file in Book 9, page 10
of Maps, Records of San Bernardino County, California,
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of
said sixth Street, with the westerly line of said Section
11, said point of intersection also being on the present
city limits of the City of Beaumont;
Thence southerly along the westerly line of said
Section 11, and along the present city limits of the City
of Beaumont, a distance of 661.4 feet, more or less, to
the northerly right of way line of California State
Freeway, Route 26;
Thence easterly along said northerly right of way
line, to a point 105 feet in right angle distance from
said westerly line of Section 11;
Thence northerly, parallel with and distant 105 feet
easterly from said westerly line, to a point that is
distant 300 feet southerly from the northerly line of
said Lot 1;
Thence westerly, parallel with and distant 300 feet
southerly from said northerly line of Lot 1, a distance
of 5 feet;
Thence northerly, parallel with and distant 100 feet
easterly from said westerly line of Section 11, a distance
of 380 feet to the northerly line of said Sixth Street,
and point on the city limits of said City of Beaumont;
Thence Westerly along said northerly line, and along
said City limits, a distance of 100 feet to the point of
beginning.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published in the Beaumont Gazette, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City
of Beaumont, and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect thirty days after its adoption.

California, hereby certify that the foregoing ordinance was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of. the City Council
of said City duly held on the 27th. day of November,1961,
and that the same was duly passed and adopted at a regular
meeting held on the llth day of December, 1961,
by the following votes:
AYES: Councilmen Houston, Leeb, Moore, McClellan and Allen.
NOES: Councilmen
None.
ABSENT: Councilmen None.
