AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA,
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 316 OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE "UNIFORM
WIRING CODE,"1961 EDITION, PUBLISHED FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
CHAPTER INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTORS,
AS THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AND PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Beaumont, California, does hereby
ordain as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 316 of the City of Beaumont, and all other
ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section 2. (A) ADOPTION OF UNIFORL WIRING CODE. The Uniform
Wiring Code, 1961 Edition, compiled, Edited and Indexed by Southern
California Chapter International Association of Electrical Inspectors,
is adopted as the Electrical Code of the City of Beaumont, creating
the office of Electrical Safety Engineer, prescribing his duties and
authority, providing for the issuance of electrical permits and for
inspections and fixing the fees therefor, regulating the installation,
arrangement, alterations, repair, maintainance and operation of
electrical wiring, electrical fixtures and other electrical appliances
and equipment.
Each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions
and terms of such Uniform Wiring Code, 1961 Edition, are hereby
referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as though fully set forth
herein.
(B) COPIES TO BE ON FILE. Three copies of the Uniform
Wiring Code adopted by the preceding section shall be kept permanently
on file in the office of the City Clerk.
(C) PENALTIES. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any of the provisions of the Code adopted in Section (A) hereof, shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punish-
able by a fine of not more than
500.00 or by imprisonment in the
City Jail for a period of not more than six months, or by both such
fine and imprisonment.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the Beaumont
Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in the City of Beaumont and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect thirty days after its adoption.
