TYBEE ISLAND HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
March 20, 2017
ATTENDANCE
(Present) Commissioner: Sue Bentley, Jane Coslick, Susan Estroff,
Dottie Kluttz, Neca Stoller

City Council Representative: Bill Garbett

CALL TO ORDER
Sue called the meeting to order at 6:05pm.
HPC MEETING MINUTES
Motion was made by Neca, which was seconded by Susan, to approve the HPC meeting minutes
of January 16, 2017. The motion passed unanimously.
HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY UPDATE
Chantel reported that Sarah and she are finishing the photography for the consultant preparing
the second phase of the Historic Preservation Fund Grant for the Resource Survey. The
consultant has requested an extension, which has been granted by the Historic Preservation
Division. The anticipated completion of the project is the beginning of August.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION MONTH
Commissioners reviewed the ideas for recognizing Preservation Month in May on Tybee Island.
Sue presented various picture of cottages for the placemats. She will continue working with an
artist to do a rendering. Sarah, Chantel, and Sue will confirm the verbiage to be placed on the
placemats prior to printing. Dottie confirmed she has reserved the Tybee Post Theater for May 7
at 4pm for “I Remember Tybee”, however, there may be a conflict. She will follow up in a couple
of days to confirm and to request assistance from commissioners. Commissions discussed the
logistics of this event. Chantel confirmed she will include information, as available, in the Tybee
Beachcomber article that she writes and the Tybee Island Main Street Talk e-newsletter.
HPC PERMIT REVIEW UPDATE
Sue reported that she has received a few permits from the Planning and Zoning Office to review.
