A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF
GULF STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING
THE UNIFIED LOCAL MITIGATION STRATEGY BY THE TOWN
OF GULF STREAM; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERANCE CLAUSE;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town Commission of the Town of Gulf
Stream, Florida has determined that a Local Mitigation
Strategy for mitigation efforts is in the best interest of
the community and its residents; and
WHEREAS, the Town Commission formally appointed a
planning committee member and alternate on August 18, 1998
to participate in the development of a Unified Local
Mitigation Strategy; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has been meeting the past two
years and has solicited input from other agencies and the
public; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has approved the Local
Mitigation Strategy and the Town Commission of the Town of
Gulf Stream is in agreement with the Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. This resolution be adopted to include
the Palm Beach County Unified Local Mitigation Strategy, a
copy of which is on file in the official records in the
Office of the Town Clerk and is made a part hereto.
Section 2. Should any provision or section of this
Resolution or portion thereof, be declared by a court of
contempt jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not
effect the remainder of this Resolution.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon passage.
