Committee members present Irwin Mulnick, Austin Shotwell, Forrest Stanley, Corey Nelson, Michelle Hughes
Staff members present: Dennis Coyle
Irwin Mulnick called the meeting to order at 6:01 PM.
Michele Hughes, new PRAC member was introduced.
Welcome and Recap of last meeting
Rec District
Forrest gave the update on the proposal of the Recreation District. The organizers have changed the district
boundaries and Dennis Coyle will check on any new information. Discussion on purpose of district.
4th of July Discussion
Discussed the 4th of July community meetings and the committee members agreed that there is a need to control
the crowds and mood of the people in the City parks. Some of the ideas on how to downsize the 4th of July in
McCall included: banning alcohol within the City Parks, reducing fireworks- the size and volume. The parks become
unhealthy and aren't safe.
IDPR Grant Applications
The PRAC voted to authorize the Chair to write letters of support for the grant applications being submitted to the
Mt. Bike License Plate Fund for the Mt. Bike Skills Park and the Road and the Bridge Fund Grant for improvements
to Riverfront Park. Dennis discussed the McCall Donnelly School Board support for the Mountain Bike Skills Park.
Staff Update
Dennis updated the board on the annual report. Dennis mentioned that all of the accomplishments in our
Department are a direct result of the high quality of staff he has the pleasure of working with. Some of the high
points was an increase in recreation programs and participants, the work at the boat ramp, Rotary Park and Gold
Glove Park.
