Called to order 3:20
Move to approve the 2/1/17 minutes. 1st Karen, 2nd Dean. All in favor.
New Business
• Presentation by Steve Goodall about potential for involvement of City Environmental Advisory
Committee with incorporating energy saving approaches, ie passive solar into the
planning/building process. Estimates say that passive solar can add less than 10% to the build
cost, and sometimes results in a 14-year payback due to lesser power/heating/cooling bills.
• Update from Meg
o Meg will be on the March 9th City Council agenda to let them know that we will be asking
at the March 23rd meeting to make an amendment to the library budget to allow for pay
for a fundraising coordinator. The amendment will free up funds to pay for a fundraising
coordinator. The money is in the budget, just need to create a line item.
o Meg will be on the City Council agenda March 23 @ 5:30 to make a motion to amend the
budget. Meg has spoken to Amy and Beth. So far it is going well.
o Meg has been communicating with the City lawyer. Will be meeting soon.
• There may be a potential anonymous donor and Beth has helped.
• Discussion of the role of the committee as we proceed.
• Committee decided to move next meeting to April . Hoping to meet with the consultants the 1st or
2nd week of April.
Next meeting will be TBA in April.
