Called meeting to order, 3:18 pm
Meeting Minutes 9/25/17, corrected date, Approved.
Update from Amy Rush -
Consultants are in the process of re -contacting people interviewed who indicated they were
interested in taking a role with fundraising. They have spoken to half of this group and will continue to
contact people. So far they have 5 individuals who are solid `yes' to participate in "Ambassadors" group.
Hoping that they can have an informal social gathering in December to kick-off the group. Official training
will not begin until after the new year. If anybody on the committee wants to participate should let Amy
and Beth know. They are looking for the Board and the Committee to step up and help this process.
Work -Session Planning -Collaborative Discussion December 1st. Meet with City Council December 1,
10:30 am -- it is a work session, keep up the momentum among Council members, although a few
members will not be officially on the council yet.
• Invite new council members to get them up to date on the project - starting from the
beginning
• Highlight and memorialize the decisions that have already been made. The City Council
has already committed to a design
• To proceed with the capital campaign, it is incumbent upon the City committing to a
specific amount ($3 million). Possibly at this meeting the current city council can commit
to a date when the city will make an official financial commitment. Dean suggests before
the budget process.
• What does the council need to commit by March 2018 a specific amount of $?
• Try to get the council to brainstorm ideas for funding - get their thoughts/approaches -
provide suggestions: unused assets, LOT funding, CIP funding, General Fund, etc.
• Suggest of the Council to let Meg know if they have any questions or can invite her back
for future meetings.
Next meeting Monday, November 20th at 3:15.
