Minutes approved, 1st Bill, 2nd Heather, all in favor
Old Business
• Thank you notes - We sent thank you notes last week to folk who helped out during the
visit of library consultants; Lynn called the Friends of the Library who helped.
• A short survey was created with Google Forms and a link is now available on the McCall
Public Library website. Karen will create a paper survey that will be available at the
library front desk. Link to the survey will be emailed via the City newsblast that goes to
all residents who have signed up for city news.
New Business
• Preparation for August visit of consultants. Discussion of initial spreadsheet from Dick
Waters related to population growth, current collection, and projected building space
needs.
• During the August visit, Dick plans to present three different blocking plans to show
potential space allocation of the library based on his projections and ideas for adding
space.
• Comments from the public meeting -- all sticky notes comments were typed up by HPA.
• Dennis and Dick will be staying at Hotel McCall (discounted rate for library). Meeting at
the Congregational Church.
• Discussion of focus groups we might have missed from first visit. Discussion about
meeting with more students/kids. Possibly groups from each school. Committee
members will talk more with the school librarians to determine direction the District is
taking with their libraries, so that wecan best compliment and partner with them.
Committee members will do that before Dennis and Dick arrive in August.
• Food for the meeting. Heather has good ideas and will come up with a plan.
Next meeting is Wednesday, August 17 at 3:15pm.
