Called to order 11:00
Minutes approved, 1st Karen, 2nd Linda, all in favor
Old Business
• Discussion of design team visit.
• For their next visit we should try to engage more of the tweens/teenagers. School will be
in session.
• We need to better define the "population served" by the library. We have town
population, zip code population, and summer/maximum population. Zip code population
(approx 5,000) would reflect McCall population + people served in neighborhoods and
communities outside of city limits, for example Lake Fork, Carefree, etc.
• Thank yous: Brooke Schrack, Ed Hershberger, Hotel McCall, HUB, Caroline, Keith
Lannom (smoke jumper tour)
• Group writes an opinion piece for the newspaper to bring the community along with the
process - Bill, Meg, and Heather will work on this.
• Review of mission statement and timeline for Library Expansion committee: we are
currently on track with the timeline.
• Heather suggests putting out a short survey to get feedback from people who could not
participate in the info gathering process. Short survey - paper and online. Karen will help
Meg with the survey.
• librarv@mcall.id.us -- people can email comments as well
New Business
• Consultants returning Aug 29-31. Location basement of Community Congregational
Church, fellowship hall has been reserved for entire day of Aug 30.
• Make a motion to move meeting time to 3:15 pm after school starts: 1st Linda, 2nd
Dean, all in favor.
• Next meetings: Aug 3 at 11 am, Aug 17 at 3:15pm, Sept 7 at 3:15pm, Sept 21 at 3:15pm
• Meg received an email from Dennis and Dick about what they want to do for their next
visit

o Summarize existing conditions in a more formal way
o Present preliminary building requirements
o Present concepts layout site options
o Work towards narrowing down to two options
o Include groups/individuals we missed out on
o Start to strategize for next steps for what comes next
o Determining dates and next steps of 3rd visit
Next meeting is Wednesday August 3rd @ 10:56am.
