APPROVING THE 1997-1998 COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has been allocated $88,000.00 from the
Middlesex County Housing & Community Development Program for the 1997-1998
Program Year; and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held on Wednesday, February 5, 1997 to solicit
comments and recommendations from the citizens of the Borough of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Board has had the opportunity to discuss
the proposals with the Mayor and Council Representatives to the Middlesex County
Housing & Community Development Program; and
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Community Development Board that the
following programs meet the guidelines of the Citizen's Participation List of Eligible
Activities:
Housing Rehab & Administration $42,000,00
Volunteer Fire Department Equipment $11,000.00
Housing Authority Van Driver $ 7,200.00
Housing Authority Senior Van $20,800.00
Kiddie Keepwell Camp $ 2,000.00
Civic Center Park Improvements $ 5,000.00
WHEREA~, the above programs were unanimously approved by the Community
Development Board at a Public Hearing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret hereby consent to the submission of the above named programs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect immediately
upon adoption as provided by law.
Adopted this 6th day of March, 1997
and certified as a true copy of the original
on March 7, 1997.
