HomeMy Public PortalAboutCOTIPDPR_20110120_ElPasoGrant.doc Marella Eaton Public Information Officer (912) 786-5635 PRESS RELEASE For immediate release Tybee Island Police Department Receives El Paso Corporation Grant Tybee Island, Ga. – (March 23, 2011) The Tybee Island Police Department has received a $10,000 community support grant from El Paso Corporation’s Southern LNG subsidiary to promote marine safety at Tybee Island. Captain Jonathan Hagan applied for the grant after meeting with Chris Humes, Director of LNG Operations at El Paso. The community grant was approved towards the purchase of a boat for marine safety and rescue efforts, and for emergency use. Humes presented the check to Captain Hagan at the Tybee Island City Council meeting on January 13, 2011 in the City Hall Auditorium.
