City Engineer Chris Barnes presented Change Order - 41, Greencastle Water Utility
Improvements Division "A" - Water Treatment Facility. George Murphey recommended
dc!eting items 97 (Extend Drain Tile from South Side of Red Water Lagoon to Drainage Swale -
mc!udes inlet stricture} and # 14 (Add carpet to rooms 102 &103, and Tile to room 104). Mr.
Murphey stated that in 47 they are mixing storm sewer design with drainage. This need to be
taken all the way to Big Walnut_ This was not in the original contract, Mr. Murphey continued,
and suggested that 7 be taken out and looked at at a later date. Nlr. Murphey suggested that 9 l4
also be deleted and have this done locally instead of giving the profits to others. Engineer
Barnes told the Board that they have looked at several different options. Mr. Murphev suggested
putting in a Swale right now and look at tile later. Engineer Barnes agreed to delete =7 and look
into the options to bring to the Board at a later date. Discussion regarding 014 ensued with
George Murphey recommending that this be deleted altogether and do locally. Superintendent
Leon Phillips stated that #2 (Mandatory Bid Alternate #7 - install one existing pump in new
facility) concerned him. Does it cost S 10,000.00 to move a pump from existing facility to new
facility'? Engineer Barnes stated that this is something that has to be done. They don't know if
the existing valve would be worth using. George Murphey made the motion to accept the
Change Order with the deletion of 47 and 914, bringing the change order total from S
to 544,107.00 (deleting S8,730.00). Sue Murray seconded the motion, vote was unanimous.
