July 2, 2014
Who: City of Tybee Island Mayor Jason Buelterman
What: Although Tropical Storm Arthur is predicted not to make a direct hit on the Savannah area, the weather accompanying such a storm can bring heavy rains, high winds, and chaotic
surf conditions. In particular, higher than normal surf can create rip tides and undertows that represent a significant danger to nearby beach goers, even if the sun is shining and
the weather appears clear. Mayor Buelterman is making himself available for interviews to the media to emphasize the potential dangers to visitors and local residents who may be hitting
the beaches this holiday weekend, just as the storm is passing offshore.
Where: Please call the Mayor if you are interested in such an interview opportunity
When: At the mutual convenience of the Mayor and the interviewer
Why: To promote swimmer and surfer safety at Tybee Island and other nearby beaches
Contact: You may reach Mayor Buelterman directly on his cell at 912.844.8427
