ORDINANCt NO. 372
AN ORDINANCE OF TIE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA,
PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF SALARIES TO MEMBERS
OF TEL CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, STATE OF CALI-
FORMA, DOLS ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: PURPOSE. This ordinance is enacted pursuant to
Section 36514 of the Government Code, as added by Chapter 286
of the Statutes of 1965, authorizing the Council to provide by
ordinance that each member of the Council shall receive a pre-
scribes salary, the amount of which is based upon the population
of the City as. determined by estimates made by the State Depart-
ment of Finance.
SECTION 2: POPULATION. As of the date of passage of this
ordinance, the latest estimate of population of the City of
Beaumont mace by the Department of Finance is 5100.
SECTIOI 3: SALARIES. Each member of the said Council of
the City of'Beaumont shall receive as salary the sum of $75.00
per month, provides however the Mayor shall receive as salary
an additional sum of $25.00 per month, or the total sum of S100.00
per month during his tenure in said office. The said salaries
shall be payable from and after the operative date of this ordinan
and at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries are
paid to other officers and employees of the City of Beaumont.
SECTION 4: REIMBURSEMENT. "TENT. The salaries prescribed herein
are and shall be exclusive of any amounts payable to each member
of the Council as reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses
incurred by him in the performance of official duties for the
City of Beaumont.
SECTION 5: OPERATIVE DATE. This ordinance shall become
operative only on and after tie date upon which one or more member

salary prescribed herein by virtue of beginning a new term of
office following the general municipal election next succeeding
its effective (ate.
SLCPIOi\ 6: LFr3CT'IVE DATL. This ordinance spall be effec-
tive thirty (30) days from ansa after the date of its passage.
